Punjab National Bank has announced the appointment of Shri Amit Kumar Srivastava as Executive Director, following a formal notification issued by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. The appointment, made under the provisions of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, takes effect immediately.
According to the regulatory filing, Shri Srivastava will serve a term of three years from the date he assumes office, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Shri Srivastava joins the Board with more than three decades of experience across key functional areas of banking. His career spans leadership roles in branch operations, treasury, risk management and credit review, bringing both operational depth and strategic insight to the institution.
Prior to this elevation, he was serving as the Group Chief Risk Officer at PNB, where he was responsible for steering the bank’s enterprise-wide risk frameworks. He has also headed the Jodhpur Zone in the capacity of Zonal Manager.
Shri Srivastava holds a Master of Science from Banaras Hindu University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Treasury and Forex Management from ICFAI. He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and has obtained several international qualifications, including Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) from GARP, Professional Risk Manager certification, and other specialised credentials in financial risk.
His appointment marks a key addition to PNB’s leadership as the bank continues strengthening its governance, risk oversight and strategic growth agenda.
From a risk-management perspective, his elevation signals PNB’s clear intent to embed risk-first leadership at the heart of its decision-making as the bank navigates an increasingly complex operating environment.
